Lyre Workshops


Anna Cooper, a long standing lyre teacher and player (author of ‘How to Play the Lyre’) is coming to England, to hold lyre workshops from 19th – 26th March 2005, in your area, (Stafford, Bristol area, and Maidstone) These workshops will be suitable for musicians and beginners alike, and will include improvisation, listening exercises, playing with music (if requested), etc. All abilities and approaches will be catered for.
You will find playing the lyre for a day a wonderfully relaxing, yet exhilarating experience. There are 12 ‘teaching’ lyres to borrow for people without an instrument.

Arion Association

The Arion Association is especially for anyone who plays a lyre in the U.K. and Ireland. They produce news letters packed with information, and run annual workshops round the country, a great opportunity for all levels of playing to come together to share and learn. This year it is being held in Coleg (can’t spell the rest, will confirm later) in Wales, from 7th – 10th April. The theme – The lyre: past and present.

These workshops are always exceptionally good value £45.00 to cover workshop fee, board and lodging.
