  Green Living Fair
   
The Celtic Lyre on display at the Green Living Fair Co.Down, created a lot of interest over the weekend. We now have lists of people interested in future concerts

  Practice for Switzerland
   
Today in Mourne Grange, the villagers chosen to go to Switzerland were given an intensive practice by John Billing, the conductor of the Celtic Lyre orchestra.

  Indian Community Center - Tsunami service and concert
   
The Celtic Lyre Ensemble were invited to participate in a multi faith ceremony and a concert of world music, at the Indian Community Center, Belfast. It was a privilage to be part of such an event of solidarity, and to share our lyre music with such a varied audience. Thank you for inviting us.

  Lyre Teaching Workshops
   
Anna Cooper, long standing lyre teacher and player (Author of 'How to Play the lyre' ) is coming to England, to hold lyre workshops from 19th - 26th March, in 4 locations, atleast. These workshops will be suitable for musicians and beginners alike and will include improvisation, listening exercises, playing with music, etc. All abilities and approaches will be catered for. You will find playing the lyre for a day a wonderfully relaxing, yet exhilerating experience. There are 12 'teaching' lyres to borrow for people without an instrument.   Events in Donegal
   
On the 17th - 18th June, 5 members of the Orpheus Lyre Ensemble had a busy 2 days in Donegal. We first played at a home for special needs people, later that day we entertained at a multicultural evening, followed by an hour in the local pub. The next morning we supported Anna in giving a workshop to local people to experience playing the lyre. In the afternoon we played at a local old people's home. We met plenty of local musicians, it was fun to be part of a thriving musical community.

  Living in the Encounter, Prague
