Plenum
Colin
Tanser has written a specially commissioned piece of music which
will form the heart of the playing at the Plenum. Called ‘Everyman’,
this piece is in three sections (The Journey, Strange land, and
Rainbow), and is written for soprano/solo, altos and tenor/bass
lyres, and female voices, (the children in the children’s
lyre programme will sing this). It is a delightful piece, and
should be within the capabilities of us all to perform well by
the end of the conference. It is now organised into parts, in
booklets, and we hope to distribute these in April so that we
can all become familiar with our parts before the conference.
Then the fun and challenge of putting it all together will begin!
For the Plenum, there
will also be Irish music and music by Shostakovitch.
